Oncology Billing Representative

Location: Moorestown, New Jersey, United States; work is performed in an office environment.

Salary: $16.06–$24.71 per hour

What you will do

• Monitor daily pre-certification work queues and resolve outstanding items with the HQ Pre-Certification Department.
• Investigate claim edits, billing discrepancies, missing documentation, and charge posting hold issues.
• Submit hospital charges through the pMD system and ensure accurate drug billing and diagnosis code alignment.
• Verify referrals, insurance coverage, benefits, and required approvals before patient appointments and services.
• Coordinate with practice leadership and the HQ Billing Department, sharing billing trends and recommendations.
• Answer patient insurance and billing questions and provide cross-coverage for authorization responsibilities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least three years of experience in a medical business office setting.
• Strong knowledge of insurance benefits, prior authorizations, reimbursement processes, and payer requirements.
• Ability to work in an office environment and interact frequently with staff, patients, and the public.
• Ability to comply with HIPAA, the US Oncology Compliance Program, the Code of Ethics, and business standards.
