Senior Software Engineer, Developer Platform Engineering (AWS/Python)

Location: Warsaw, Poland; 70% in-office under hirify.global's hybrid work model

What you will do

• Design, build, and evolve secure developer platform capabilities using Python or TypeScript/JavaScript, GitHub Actions, Pulumi, Docker, AWS, and APIs.
• Build governed cloud development workspaces with secure workspace patterns, identity controls, secrets management, approved base images, and controlled network access.
• Create reusable templates, documentation, reference implementations, and paved-road standards for secure and compliant development environments.
• Partner with application engineering teams to standardize environments, streamline onboarding, and improve developer experience.
• Operate platform services through monitoring, alerting, dashboards, runbooks, automation, incident response, and lifecycle management.
• Collaborate with Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Enterprise Architecture, and engineering teams to implement automated platform controls and governed AI-assisted development workflows.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, developer tooling, infrastructure automation, or a related field.
• Strong software engineering experience building developer platforms, internal tools, infrastructure automation, CI/CD systems, secure development environments, or secure software delivery platforms.
• Very strong programming skills in Python or TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Significant experience with GitHub, GitHub Actions, CI/CD workflows, AWS or another cloud provider, Docker, devcontainers, or standardized development environments.
• Strong understanding of secure software development, software supply chain controls, dependency and artifact management, secrets handling, and policy enforcement.
• Experience leading technical initiatives, troubleshooting across code, pipelines, cloud infrastructure, networking, identity, and developer tooling, and balancing security with usability and reliability.

Nice to have

• Experience with Pulumi, CDK, Terraform, Coder, GitHub Codespaces, Dev Containers, Kubernetes, artifact repositories, or application security platforms.
• Experience building internal developer platforms, scaffolding systems, CLIs, reusable GitHub Actions workflows, onboarding flows, or engineering enablement tooling.
• Experience enabling AI-assisted development through approved tools, governed workspace patterns, internal developer context, or safe automation workflows.
