Principal ABAP BTP Engineer (SAP Business AI)

Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States; 70% in-office work model

Salary: $142,500–$256,500 per year, with potential bonus, incentive compensation, or equity award.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and support SAP solutions across ABAP, SAP BTP, S/4HANA, Fiori/UI5, RAP, CAP, and related extensibility frameworks.
• Build advanced ABAP objects, APIs, interfaces, workflows, enhancements, forms, and object-oriented components.
• Develop cloud-native applications on BTP using Business Application Studio, HANA Cloud, Integration Suite, Workflow, and Event Mesh.
• Create scalable, role-based SAP Fiori and SAPUI5 user experiences.
• Support SAP and non-SAP integrations, testing, deployment, production support, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
• Enable SAP Joule and Business AI use cases by integrating backend services and enterprise content with appropriate security, governance, and business context.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in IT, engineering, computer science, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of SAP development experience, including deep ABAP expertise and at least 3 years of SAP BTP development and extensibility.
• Strong experience with ABAP, RICEFW objects, object-oriented ABAP, APIs, interfaces, workflows, forms, debugging, and SAP S/4HANA.
• Experience with SAP Fiori/UI5, BTP services, RAP, CAP, clean-core principles, side-by-side extensibility, and integration patterns.
• Working knowledge of SAP Business AI capabilities, including SAP Joule, Joule Studio, AI Core, AI Launchpad, and Generative AI Hub.
