Electrical Design Engineer (X-Ray and Bond Test)

Location: Colchester, United Kingdom; regular travel between Aylesbury and Colchester, with occasional international travel. Hybrid working requires 3 days per week in the office and 2 days remotely, depending on the work.

What you will do

• Support the electrical and electronic design and testing of new X-Ray and Bond Test products.
• Design electrical support systems, panels, PCBs, and general machine wiring.
• Create basic mechanical designs for electromechanical machine elements.
• Build and test electrical and electronic prototypes.
• Specify, document, and manage electrical bills of materials.
• Support and improve the electrical design of existing products.

Requirements

• Degree-level education or demonstrable equivalent experience.
• Several years of experience designing electrical or electronic systems in an industrial environment.
• Experience designing electromechanical systems, such as robotics or production automation.
• Extensive experience designing industrial electrical panels, including circuit breakers and contactors.
• Experience specifying and designing wiring looms for electrical machinery.
• CAD experience, preferably with AutoCAD, Inventor, or Cadstar, plus knowledge of electrical safety standards such as IEC61010 and NPA79.
