Non-Certified Dosimetrist (Radiation Oncology)

Location: Plano, Texas, United States. Work is performed onsite in an office and radiation clinic environment with direct patient contact and potential exposure to ionizing radiation.

Texas Oncology is a large community oncology provider delivering cancer care through radiation oncology teams across Texas and southeastern Oklahoma.

What you will do

• Generate radiation therapy treatment plans using computer software, manual calculations, and multiple imaging modalities.
• Develop and evaluate plans based on prescribed target regions and dose-avoidance criteria.
• Work with radiation oncologists and medical physicists while independently performing routine dosimetry duties.
• Consult with therapists on immobilization devices, field arrangements, and treatment variables.
• Design or supervise the fabrication of immobilization devices, compensating filters, bolus, molds, custom shields, and treatment planning aids.
• Follow the US Oncology Compliance Program, Code of Ethics, and Business Standards.

Requirements

• Proficiency in planning VMAT, IMRT, SBRT/SRT, and 3D treatment plans.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing technology and learn new systems and techniques.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and therapists.
• Ability to work in an office and clinical environment with patient contact and exposure to ionizing radiation.

Nice to have

• Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) credentials.
• Experience with Varian linear accelerators.
• Experience with Eclipse TPS, ARIA, RadCalc, EZFluence, ClearCheck, AutoContour, and MiM Software.
