Pipeline Specialist (Natural Gas Pipelines)

Location: Onsite at the Alice Pipeline Support Office in Alice, Texas; extensive travel and overnight stays required, with work away from the reporting location up to 75% of the time.

What you will do

• Coordinate and complete natural gas and products pipeline operations, maintenance, construction, and repair projects.
• Operate and maintain heavy excavation and hauling equipment, including hydrovac trucks, backhoes, excavators, dozers, forklifts, and maintainers.
• Perform hot taps, stopple installations, valve maintenance, pigging, pipe cleaning, hydrostatic testing, leak surveys, and pipeline locating.
• Inspect and repair pipeline coatings, casings, pig launchers and receivers, closures, and cathodic protection test points.
• Develop work plans and pressure test plans, coordinate segment replacements, and support HazOp planning.
• Lead and train personnel and oversee contractors working on company assets and facilities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Five or more years of pipeline construction, maintenance, and repair experience, including heavy excavation equipment operation and maintenance.
• Valid CDL driver license, or ability to obtain a CDL within six months of hire, with a satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to read engineering construction blueprints and interpret operations and maintenance manuals.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations, DOT pipeline regulations, environmental policies, and hazardous-waste handling.
• Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather, confined spaces, elevated areas, and physically demanding conditions, including lifting up to 50 pounds and exerting up to 100 pounds of force.

• Full-time schedule typically runs Monday through Thursday, ten hours per day, with overtime; construction schedules may run Monday through Saturday for ten to twelve hours per day.
