TL;DR
Project Manager – Engineering (Oil and Gas) (Pipeline Projects): Managing the development and execution of natural gas, CO2, and liquid products pipeline projects with an accent on project controls, budgets, schedules, regulatory compliance, and encroachment coordination. Focus on generating project estimates and specifications, reviewing designs and stress calculations, and ensuring the safety and reliability of pipeline facilities.

Location: Houston, Texas; based at the Houston headquarters with a hybrid work schedule. Travel is approximately 30%, including overnight stays, with occasional extended hours and short-notice emergency travel.

What you will do

  • Lead internal and external project teams delivering pipeline projects involving natural gas, CO2, and liquid products.
  • Manage project documentation, controls, cash-flow forecasts, estimates, budgets, schedules, material requisitions, and contract specifications.
  • Coordinate encroachment design and construction with operations, engineering, procurement, right-of-way, permitting, environmental, health and safety, control center, and integrity teams.
  • Review encroachment inquiries, drawings, load-stress and vibration calculations, anomalies, and facility locations.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate, federal, state, regulatory, and industry requirements while maintaining pipeline safety and reliability.
  • Prioritize multiple projects, communicate status, and prepare monthly project and encroachment reports.

Requirements

  • 5–10 years of oil and gas experience, including at least 5 years of practical engineering experience in pipelines, petroleum terminals, or utility fields.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is strongly preferred; equivalent industry experience may substitute. Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering is preferred.
  • Knowledge of 49 CFR Part 192/195 and API 1102 regulatory and industry standards.
  • Project management experience on small to large projects or portions of larger projects.
  • Valid driver’s license and eligibility for coverage by the company’s insurance carrier.
  • Professional written and spoken English is required, along with analytical problem-solving, complex Excel spreadsheet skills, and project scheduling software experience.
