Director, Corporate Operational Excellence (Biopharma)

Location: United States — California — Foster City or Santa Monica. The role follows a hybrid policy with two remote days and three onsite days per week. The position will be based in Santa Monica through 2026, with planned relocation to either El Segundo or Thousand Oaks beginning in January 2027.

Salary: $226,185–$292,710 per year, plus potential annual bonus, stock-based long-term incentives, paid time off, and benefits.

What you will do

• Identify enterprise-wide opportunities to improve operational efficiency, effectiveness, scalability, and organizational performance.
• Translate corporate strategy into cross-functional programs spanning Research, Development, Technical Operations, Commercial, and Corporate functions.
• Partner with senior leadership, including the CEO Staff, Corporate Strategy, and Enterprise Planning, to prioritize and govern strategic initiatives.
• Lead transformation and continuous-improvement efforts, including root-cause diagnosis, change management, and adoption of repeatable improvement frameworks.
• Oversee end-to-end program delivery, KPIs, milestones, risks, accountability, and value realization.
• Lead or support M&A integration and separation initiatives, including transition service agreements.

Requirements

• PhD and 10+ years of relevant experience, or MS/MA and 12+ years, or BS/BA and 14+ years.
• Experience leading large-scale, cross-functional corporate initiatives from strategy through execution.
• Deep understanding of biopharma operations, including drug development and commercialization.
• Strong executive presence, analytical and structured problem-solving skills, and experience influencing senior stakeholders without direct authority.
• Experience establishing operational excellence frameworks, governance models, performance systems, executive dashboards, and KPIs.
• Ability to work onsite three days per week in the United States office locations and accommodate the planned office transition in January 2027.
