Senior Director, Biostatistics (Cell and Gene Therapy)

Location: United States; remote or office-based in Foster City, El Segundo, or Thousand Oaks, California, or Parsippany, New Jersey

Salary: $261,375–$338,250 annually in the Bay Area; $237,575–$307,450 annually in other US locations. Additional discretionary bonus, stock-based long-term incentives, paid time off, and benefits may apply.

What you will do

• Lead short- and long-term biostatistics strategies across Development functions and workstreams.
• Contribute to product development plans, global regulatory submission plans, and biostatistics infrastructure development.
• Direct complex, cross-functional programs and portfolios spanning multiple disease areas.
• Integrate, interpret, and apply data from diverse internal and external sources to support strategic decisions.
• Advise executives and senior leadership on scientific, statistical, and enterprise-level priorities.
• Lead and develop biostatistics teams supporting therapeutic areas and major organizational initiatives.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience with an MS or PhD, or 14+ years with a BA/BS.
• Strong knowledge of drug development, Good Clinical Practice, ICH guidelines, regulatory requirements, and statistical principles.
• Exceptional communication, leadership, critical-thinking, strategic-planning, and stakeholder-influencing skills.
• Experience directing complex multifunctional programs and translating scientific and business challenges into actionable plans.
• Ability to build subject-matter expertise and communicate statistical concepts to internal and external audiences.
• Work authorization and employment must be based in the United States; the position may be remote or office-based at the listed US locations.

Nice to have

• 15+ years of progressive industry experience with an MS or 12+ years with a PhD.
• Biostatistics leadership experience in hematologic malignancies, solid tumors, cellular therapies, or gene therapies.
• Experience with regulatory submission strategy, advisory committees, and oral explanations.
• Expert-level biostatistics knowledge and a record of publications.
