Location: Montgomery, Alabama, United States. The role requires travel and work at field locations, governmental agencies, corporate entities, and client offices, both indoors and outdoors.
Salary: USD $35,568–$83,200 per year, depending on experience, education, skills, geography, and other compensable factors.

What you will do
- Research property owners and initiate contact regarding properties affected by projects.
- Explain property appraisals and valuations, secure permission to enter properties, and maintain positive landowner relationships.
- Negotiate ROW options, easements, fee interests, curative documents, and damage settlements in accordance with project policies.
- Work with landowners, tenants, attorneys, supervisors, and project stakeholders to reach agreements.
- Maintain detailed contact diaries, payment logs, activity reports, project files, and ROW documentation.
- Support construction activities, community meetings, public-records research, mail-outs, and project data needs.
Requirements
- At least five years of experience as a ROW agent or in a related right-of-way position; an associate's degree is preferred.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel as required by projects.
- Knowledge of land descriptions and terminology, surface and subsurface rights, ROW document analysis, valuation calculations, and land services methods.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, quantitative, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including spreadsheet and word-processing applications, and the ability to learn new computer programs quickly.
- Ability to work independently, make decisions under pressure, walk long distances over varying terrain, and lift or move up to 35 pounds.
Nice to have
- SR/WA or another IRWA designation.
- Ability to obtain a state Notary Public credential.
- State real estate licensing, where required.
