Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Location: East Providence, Rhode Island, United States; office environment. Travel required: approximately 10%.

What you will do

• Lead the development of mixed-signal circuits, power conversion, and analog circuitry for embedded controllers.
• Develop system architectures using single-board computers, system-on-modules, custom circuit boards, and communication interfaces.
• Collaborate with firmware engineers on systems using Python, C, C++, HDL, and assembly.
• Create design verification and validation plans, oversee testing, analyze results, and debug failures.
• Support product safety and electromagnetic compliance certification, technology evaluations, customer input exercises, benchmarking, and production launches.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience launching electromechanical products with embedded systems, real-time control, and digital communication interfaces.
• Experience designing circuits for actuators, digital communications, sensor data acquisition, and EMC and safety compliance.
• Experience with microcontrollers, FPGAs, single-board computers, or system-on-modules.
• Expertise in circuit simulation, schematic capture, bill of materials creation, and PCB layout using OrCAD with EDM or similar CAD software.
• Familiarity with firmware development and the ability to collaborate with global teams.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
