Software Architect, Enterprise Apps & Mobile (Medtech)

What you will do

• Own end-to-end architecture across web, mobile, services, data, security, and Azure deployment topology.
• Lead the mobile-first strategy for field representatives and clinical staff, including offline-first synchronization, conflict resolution, device management, and app distribution.
• Advance the enterprise platform to support surgical case scheduling, planning integration, inventory visibility, warehouse fulfillment, and billing.
• Design integrations with ERP, PLM, identity, reporting and BI systems, as well as surgical planning and navigation platforms.
• Lead distributed and contract engineering resources through design reviews, code reviews, delivery standards, and definition of done.
• Establish CI/CD, automated testing, environment management, release processes, technical documentation, and architecture decision records.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years building and shipping production software, including 3+ years in an architect or technical lead capacity.
• Experience owning production mobile applications on iOS and Android using React Native or a comparable cross-platform framework.
• Experience owning business-critical enterprise applications at meaningful scale and integrating with ERP and other enterprise systems of record.
• Practical knowledge of offline-first mobile architecture, local persistence, background synchronization, conflict resolution, and graceful degradation on poor connectivity.
• Experience leading distributed or contract engineering teams and delivering production systems.

Nice to have

• Medical device, life sciences, or other regulated-industry software experience, including 21 CFR Part 820, ISO 13485, or IEC 62304.
• Experience with orthopedics, surgical workflow, field inventory, consignment, or medical device distribution.
• Experience stabilizing and scaling platforms inherited from contractors or departing teams.
• Knowledge of mobile device management, enterprise app distribution, and app store release processes.
