Controller (Government Contract Accounting)

What you will do

• Lead accounting operations, financial close, financial reporting, payroll accounting, project accounting, and cash management.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, FAR, Cost Accounting Standards, DCAA guidance, and federal acquisition requirements.
• Manage indirect cost structures, provisional billing rates, incurred cost submissions, and forward pricing rate proposals.
• Oversee project setup, funding, labor charging, cost allocations, contract modifications, profitability, invoicing, and closeout.
• Coordinate financial statement, DCAA, DCMA, and other government audits, including corrective action plans.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, pricing activities, and financial analysis for executive leadership.

Requirements

• Active Top Secret Clearance required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• At least 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including 5 years leading accounting organizations in a government contracting environment.
• Knowledge of U.S. GAAP, FAR Part 31, Cost Accounting Standards, DCAA audit requirements, federal government contract accounting, indirect rate structures, and the Incurred Cost Submission ICE Model.
• Experience with Deltek Costpoint or an equivalent government contractor ERP and with external financial statement and government audits.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Nice to have

• CPA certification.
• Experience with organizations generating $25–$75 million in annual revenue.
• Experience supporting DoD, DHS, DOE, NASA, or civilian government agencies.
• Experience with mergers, acquisitions, post-acquisition integration, business system audits, or forward pricing rate proposals.
• Secret security clearance and interest in national security.
