Mechanical Specialist - Elmore (Gas Pipelines)

Location: Onsite in Elmore, Alabama, United States. The role requires frequent travel, including overnight travel, and may involve extended hours, weekends, and after-hours emergency callouts.

What you will do

• Perform heavy mechanical maintenance and replacement on reciprocating and turbine engines, compressors, prime movers, and auxiliary units.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, overhaul, and repair Solar gas turbines, centrifugal gas compressors, pumps, and related plant equipment.
• Assess engine and compressor components against company standards and original manufacturer specifications.
• Document maintenance activities accurately and report to the Crew Leader on work progress and practices.
• Identify and help correct safety and environmental concerns while following regulatory, tariff, and company requirements.
• Respond to callouts and emergent issues, including after-hours work, overtime, weekends, and travel.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2–4 years of relevant experience maintaining compressors, engines, turbines, pumps, or similar equipment in pipeline, refinery, manufacturing, railroad, or military environments.
• Knowledge of compressor and pump stations, gas treatment, storage facilities, process plants, transmission systems, and pipeline operations.
• Ability to read blueprints, P&IDs, and other diagrams; operate hand, pneumatic, and hydraulic tools; and use micrometers and precision measuring equipment.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company insurability requirements; a commercial driver’s license may be required.
• Ability to work onsite in Elmore, Alabama, travel frequently, respond to after-hours emergencies, work extended hours and weekends, enter confined spaces, climb elevated platforms, and lift up to 50 pounds.
