Mechanic IV (Oil & Gas)

Location: Carlsbad Warehouse, Carlsbad, New Mexico, United States; onsite work supporting oil and gas production operations. Relocation may be considered within hirify.global parameters.

What you will do

• Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair fixed and rotating mechanical equipment, including engines, pumps, generators, compressors, piping, valves, and vessels.
• Perform scheduled large-scale preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on compression fleets, VRUs, air compressors, pumps, and other rotating equipment.
• Manage work orders through SAP and mobile applications, including pre-work scoping and equipment reliability activities.
• Identify and implement reliability, integrity, economic, carbon reduction, environmental, and safety improvements.
• Follow control-of-work standards and applicable health, environment, and safety regulations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.
• 5+ years of oil and gas compression or mechanical experience.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and other technical materials.
• Ability and willingness to work assigned weekends, holidays, and overtime as workload demands.
• Ability to perform routine work independently and receive general supervision for non-routine work.

Nice to have

• Associate of Applied Science degree, military compression or industrial maintenance training, or a related mechanical technology qualification.
• Experience with reciprocating and centrifugal compressors, engines, turbines, pumps, and generators.
• Knowledge of MS Office, SAP S/4HANA, and reliability programs for safety, environmental, and production systems.
• Caterpillar Engine or Ariel Compressor certification or training.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with a diverse team.
