Associate Purchasing Specialist (Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Schedule and purchase materials to support production schedules, plant efficiency, profitability, and customer service levels.
• Plan and control inventory levels, including supporting the cycle count program.
• Initiate, review, and process purchase requisitions.
• Coordinate with suppliers on pricing, availability, product or service information, and delivery schedules.
• Manage customer, plant, and supplier change requests and reschedule materials as needed.
• Maintain planning master data such as safety stock, lead times, and lot sizes while supporting inventory management directives.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Entry-level experience accepted.
• Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of roles and manage supplier business relationships and transactions.
• Knowledge of material movement throughout the manufacturing cycle and management of raw material, work-in-progress, and finished-goods inventories.
• Ability to work with others under pressure and be available outside normal work hours when needed.
• Ability to travel 5%–10%.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 1–3 years of manufacturing experience.
• 2–5 years of experience in a plastics or fabrication environment.
• Ability to assess employee performance and coach and develop others.
