Director, ServiceNow Engineering (hands-on)

What you will do

• Lead the development, operation, and overall engineering excellence of the ServiceNow platform and core products.
• Design platform architecture and implementation approaches with ServiceNow process owners and Technology Operations teams.
• Drive high availability, resiliency, operational insights, performance, testing, automation, and code quality.
• Manage project plans, timelines, budgets, cloud-provider relationships, and internal and external partners.
• Establish development standards, code reviews, technical governance, release controls, and customization guardrails.
• Hire, coach, mentor, and develop platform architects and engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• At least 8 years of leadership experience on the ServiceNow platform.
• Strong knowledge of ServiceNow architecture, data models, integrations, security, scoped applications, platform limits, upgrades, and performance risks.
• Hands-on experience with JavaScript, Business Rules, Script Includes, Flow Designer, Integration Hub, REST/SOAP APIs, ACLs, UI configuration, debugging, and performance troubleshooting.
• Experience with Incident, Problem, Request, Change, Knowledge, Service Operations Workspace, CMDB, Discovery, Service Mapping, CSDM, and related workflows.
• Experience establishing release strategies, source control, automated testing, CI/CD, cloning, environment management, and upgrade controls.

Nice to have

• Experience with Now Assist, GenAI capabilities, AI agents, skills, governance, security, and value realization.
• Experience challenging vendor designs, estimates, staffing models, and technical recommendations.
