CNC Programmer (Manufacturing)

Location: Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, United States; 2nd shift, with training on 1st shift required.

Salary: $54,300–$75,400 annually, plus an annual discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Create CNC programs for multi-turret lathes, mill-turn machines, 3- and 4-axis mills, and horizontal machining centers using engineering drawings and 3D models.
• Optimize speeds, feeds, cutting strategies, tooling, workholding, and multistage operations to improve throughput, quality, machine utilization, and tooling costs.
• Troubleshoot machining and process issues and maintain machine control parameters.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, maintenance, and other cross-functional teams on manufacturability and process improvements.
• Provide shop-floor technical support, demonstrate programming processes, and train entry-level programmers.
• Maintain accurate programming documentation and support new tooling applications.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in CNC Programming or a related technical field.
• At least 5 years of machining experience, including setups, and at least 2 years of CNC programming experience.
• Experience with CAD and CAM software, engineering drawings, GD&T, CMM results, measurement devices, and manual editing and troubleshooting of G- and M-code programs.
• Knowledge of workholding and fixture design, with the ability to develop parametric or variable-based programming solutions.
• Strong attention to detail, communication, collaboration, ownership, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work on 2nd shift and complete training on 1st shift.

Nice to have

• Mastercam, Mazatrol, G-code, CAM post-processors, Macro B, or parametric programming experience.
• Experience with Mazak, Okuma, Tsugami, Junker, or Fanuc machine tools.
• Experience with Fanuc robots, automation systems, gantry loaders, or bar feeders.
• Knowledge of machining aluminum, stainless steel, and alloy steel.
• Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement experience.
