What you will do

• Provide data science and operations research capabilities for a combatant command Operations Assessment Division.
• Design and apply data collection, decision analytics, statistical, mathematical, and automation solutions.
• Develop applications, data visualizations, information displays, decision briefings, and analytic papers.
• Build R, R/Shiny, Python, and Python/Shiny solutions to automate data collection, analysis, and staff processes.
• Develop data stream interfaces and integrate division products with C2IE, MAVEN Smart Systems, and Advana.
• Lead small teams developing real-time and near-real-time visualization methods and analytic tools while supporting joint planning and knowledge management.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in operations research, data science, mathematics, engineering, science, computer science, or a related technical field.
• 5–12 years of combined professional data science and operations research experience, including at least 5 years in a combatant command, joint or combined headquarters, or equivalent Department of Defense environment.
• High proficiency with R, R/Shiny, Python, Python/Shiny, SQL/PostgreSQL, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft SharePoint.
• Functional knowledge of MAVEN Smart Systems, C2IE, Advana, AI, machine learning, Git, and large language models.
• Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance is required.
• Strong oral and written communication skills for formal presentations and correspondence at the senior military leadership level.

• Knowledge of joint warfighting and combatant command functions.
• Experience developing analytic capabilities as assessment requirements evolve.
• Ability to work independently or lead or contribute to small teams supporting high-visibility, urgent, or mission-critical assessments.
