Data Scientist I (AI)

Location: In-office in Phoenix, Arizona; must reside in the metro Phoenix area.

What you will do

• Develop and evaluate statistical, machine learning, and AI models under the guidance of senior data scientists.
• Clean data, prepare features, perform exploratory data analysis, conduct prompt engineering, and build LLM-based applications.
• Apply hypothesis testing, time series analysis, and basic causal or experimental analysis to identify trends and assess impact.
• Translate analytical results into clear, actionable insights for defined business questions.
• Participate in analysis, validation, basic deployment support, measurement, and ongoing improvement of analytics solutions.
• Document solution designs, assumptions, data definitions, limitations, and reproducible analytical methods while collaborating with analytics engineers and business stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, Engineering, or another analytical field.
• At least 1 year of experience with advanced Python and SQL programming, complex statistical analysis, and machine learning algorithms or AI applications using large databases.
• At least 1 year of experience working with large databases for complex analysis.
• At least 1 year of experience with advanced statistical modeling, machine learning methods, and/or AI models.
• Knowledge of relational databases, Excel, and Power BI, plus familiarity with Git and collaborative development practices.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in an analytical field.
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms and infrastructure such as Snowflake and AWS.
• Familiarity with AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude Code.
