Security Spec (Cybersecurity)

Location: Columbus, Ohio, United States; full-time role with possible shift work, on-call coverage, travel, and overtime.

Salary: $74,551.00–$93,188.50 per year.

What you will do

• Participate in basic security projects, initiatives, and incident response activities.
• Gather intelligence and information related to threats, vulnerabilities, exploits, and attacks.
• Assess security controls through testing and other methods to verify effectiveness.
• Research and investigate security events with guidance from senior security personnel.
• Document findings, activities, and recommended actions clearly for senior team members.
• Support rotating SOC/CIRC shifts and round-the-clock operations, including possible 24x7x365 on-call coverage.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, or an associate degree with one year of relevant experience, or a high school diploma/GED with two years of relevant IT or security experience.
• Relevant backgrounds may include system administration, help desk, cybersecurity, or physical security.
• Graduation from an approved cybersecurity program or demonstrated technical ability through an interview or assessment may also qualify.
• Ability to follow strict security procedures, conduct research, solve problems, and produce comprehensive documentation.
• Availability for rotating shifts, potential 24x7x365 on-call coverage, travel, and overtime.
