Junior Cybersecurity Specialist (On-Site)

Location: On-site at the Executive Office for Immigration Review, 4825 Mark Center Drive, Suite 200, Alexandria, VA 22311, USA. The position excludes AK, CA, CO, CT, DC, HI, LA, MA, MN, MO, NE, NV, NH, NJ, NM, NY, ND, OR, PR, RI, VT, WA, and WY.

Annual salary: $72,571–$95,543.

What you will do

• Monitor security alerts and execute daily vulnerability scans and remediation tasks.
• Identify potential threats through log review and preliminary analysis, and support precautionary measures against malicious code.
• Review cyber incident tickets in ServiceNow and JIRA, including duplicate and false-positive flagging.
• Investigate equipment-loss incidents for potential data compromise.
• Review audit logs, escalate critical and high vulnerabilities, and track remediation efforts.
• Support insider-threat monitoring, data cataloging, scripts, and reporting metrics.

Requirements

• 2–3 years of experience with vulnerability scanning, remediation, and incident response.
• Experience with SIEM and endpoint protection tools.
• Knowledge of vulnerability management and scanning operations, such as Tenable.
• High school diploma.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Federal Civilian Public Trust.
• U.S. citizenship or permanent residency with at least three years of residence in the United States.
