What you will do

  • Coordinate, implement, and evaluate Child Life services across the health system.
  • Provide direct Child Life care, including assessing pediatric patients' emotional, educational, and recreational needs and preparing children for hospitalization, surgeries, and procedures.
  • Lead, orient, mentor, train, and supervise Child Life staff, students, volunteers, and interns.
  • Collaborate with medical and nursing staff, Music Therapy, leadership, community organizations, vendors, and the foundation to advance pediatric programming.
  • Manage program projects, data collection, resources, donations, budgets, grant applications, and marketing content.
  • Educate staff, patients, families, and the public about children's psychosocial needs and provide bereavement follow-up.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human growth and development, education, psychology, or a related field.
  • Certified Child Life Specialist credential required.
  • Completion of a 600-hour Child Life internship supervised by a Certified Child Life Specialist.
  • Three to five years of experience working with hospitalized or healthy infants, children, and adolescents in a hospital, private practice, or community-based setting.
  • Work is based onsite in Manchester, New Hampshire.
