Senior Autonomy Positioning Engineer (Robotics)

Location: Irving, Texas, United States; full-time onsite work five days per week. Up to 10% travel is required. Domestic relocation assistance is available.

Salary: $112,710–$183,140 per year.

What you will do

• Research, design, prototype, and productionize localization algorithms for autonomous and semiautonomous systems.
• Develop production-quality C++ software for positioning, altitude estimation, navigation, and terrain-relative localization.
• Implement filters using perception, inertial, and GNSS inputs, including Error State, Kalman, and Extended Kalman approaches.
• Contribute to requirements generation, localization architecture, documentation, product quality, and validation.
• Support functional safety software design and validation.
• Collaborate with and mentor localization team members while troubleshooting complex software issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD degree in robotics, electrical or computer engineering, or computer science.
• 4+ years of experience with robotics or autonomous solutions.
• Strong C++ proficiency and experience developing, debugging, and deploying production-quality software for robotics, autonomy, localization, navigation, or real-time systems.
• Fluency in Python and strong engineering, debugging, and profiling skills.
• In-depth knowledge of inertial measurement technology, inertial navigation or guidance systems, 3D geometry, linear algebra, statistical error modeling, coordinate transformations, and vehicle dynamics.
• Knowledge of robotics frameworks such as Robot Operating System (ROS) and ability to convert research papers into production implementations.
