AI & Data Platform Engineering Manager

Location: Lone Tree, Colorado, United States; hybrid environment with up to 20% travel

Estimated starting salary: $189,761.74–$260,922.39 per year, plus performance-based annual incentive pay.

What you will do

• Lead the AI/LLM Platform and MLOps engineering team delivering an enterprise AI platform.
• Provide technical direction for LLM and generative AI architectures, including gateways, model routing, and agent/workflow orchestration.
• Oversee the integration of machine learning models and AI capabilities into enterprise systems and business platforms.
• Own the platform’s long-term technical roadmap while managing resources, budgets, schedules, and risks.
• Establish validation, verification, security, compliance, and data governance processes.
• Mentor senior engineers and technical leads, support escalations, and participate in integration events, customer reviews, and working groups.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, engineering, or a related STEM field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 6–8+ years of AI/ML or software engineering experience, including 2+ years in engineering management; without a degree, 13 years of related experience are required.
• Experience leading engineering teams and delivering complex technical programs.
• Expertise in generative AI and LLM techniques, with familiarity in supervised and unsupervised machine learning for data platform use cases.
• Experience architecting and optimizing ML pipelines and high-performance systems, plus cross-functional execution across software, data, and business platform teams.
• Must meet U.S. Government international trade authorization requirements by being a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain the required authorization.

Nice to have

• A degree in AI/ML, data science, engineering, or a related discipline.
• AWS Solutions Architect or Azure Solutions Architect certification.
• Databricks, Snowflake, DeepLearning.AI, NVIDIA DLI, or comparable certifications.
• Experience with LLM gateways, vector databases, agent orchestration frameworks, prompt evaluation tooling, or enterprise AI API platforms.
