Senior Director, Global Commercial Data Platforms & AI Engineering

Base pay: $196,000–$342,700 USD annually

What you will do

• Define and execute the global commercial data platform and ecosystem strategy, including architecture, data products, interoperability, quality, and self-service analytics.
• Build and scale AI engineering capabilities for machine learning, generative AI, and agentic AI solutions.
• Lead platform engineering across data integration, orchestration, cloud infrastructure, MLOps, AIOps, and production deployment.
• Partner with commercial, medical, marketing, product, technology, and data science stakeholders to deliver measurable business value.
• Build and develop an organization of data engineers, AI engineers, architects, and technical leaders.
• Advise on AI governance, platform strategy, data architecture, technology partnerships, and emerging technology pilots.

Requirements

• Advanced degree in computer science, data science, engineering, statistics, applied mathematics, information systems, or a related quantitative discipline.
• 12+ years of experience in data, analytics, AI, software engineering, platforms, or technology leadership.
• Deep expertise in enterprise data architecture, cloud platforms, data engineering, and modern analytics ecosystems.
• Experience designing and deploying enterprise-scale AI/ML solutions, including generative AI, large language models, and agentic AI systems.
• Proven experience building and scaling data engineering, machine learning engineering, or AI engineering organizations.
• Strong knowledge of data governance, privacy, security, responsible AI, financial management, and executive stakeholder leadership.

Nice to have

• Experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, or life sciences organizations.
• Experience supporting commercial functions such as launch planning, portfolio strategy, omnichannel engagement, forecasting, market access, or patient analytics.
• Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Azure, AWS, or equivalent enterprise cloud environments.
• Experience operationalizing AI platforms for hundreds of users and multiple business domains.
• Familiarity with Engagement.ai and related commercial AI products.
