TL;DR
Scientist, Immunogenicity, Bioanalytical and Molecular Assays (mRNA): Developing and delivering immunogenicity and bioanalytical strategies for regulated clinical programmes with an accent on anti-drug antibody, neutralising antibody, pharmacokinetic, and pharmacodynamic assays. Focus on validating complex assay platforms, troubleshooting regulated laboratory activities, and integrating bioanalysis, informatics, and translational science to advance mRNA therapeutics into clinical development.

Location: Oxford, England; site-based at hirify.global's Harwell site with full-time onsite presence required and no remote working

Company

hirify.global develops mRNA-based medicines and therapeutics through its proprietary mRNA technology platform.

What you will do

  • Design and execute phase-appropriate bioanalytical strategies for regulated clinical programmes.
  • Lead development of immunogenicity assays, including anti-drug antibody and neutralising antibody assays, alongside PK and PD assays.
  • Develop, optimise, qualify, and validate assays using ELISA, MSD, cell culture, immunoblotting, and related technologies.
  • Expand internal bioanalytical capabilities, including laboratory equipment, SOPs, critical reagents, and assay controls.
  • Partner with preclinical, clinical operations, and sample management teams on sample journeys and laboratory manuals.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and communicate scientific findings across multidisciplinary global teams.

Requirements

  • PhD with at least three years of relevant experience, or MSc with five or more years of hands-on experience in bioanalytical method development, validation, and sample analysis.
  • Expertise in electrochemiluminescence, immunoassays, cell culture-based assays, and clinical assay methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of GCP requirements, regulatory expectations, FDA and MHRA standards, and global regulatory data standards.
  • Experience with RNA therapeutics, biologics, or cell therapies is preferred; knowledge of translational science and the mRNA field is valuable.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, troubleshoot scientific problems, and communicate technical concepts across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Full-time presence at the Harwell site is required; the position is not eligible for remote working.

Nice to have

  • Hands-on experience with cell culture assays.
  • Experience using LIMS and electronic laboratory notebook platforms.
  • Experience with RNA therapeutics, biologics, or cell therapies.

Culture & Benefits

  • Collaborative, multidisciplinary environment focused on advancing mRNA science and clinical development.
  • Competitive healthcare and voluntary benefit programmes.
  • Fitness, mindfulness, and mental health support.
  • Family-building benefits, including fertility, adoption, and surrogacy support.
  • Paid vacation, bank holidays, volunteer days, sabbatical, global recharge days, and discretionary year-end shutdown.
