Paralegal (LegalTech)

Location: Remote, with travel to Los Angeles as needed, usually quarterly and for offsites

Salary: $75,000–$90,000 base salary per year, plus equity and benefits

What you will do

• Interview clients, build trusted relationships, and guide people through disability benefits and insurance compensation processes.
• Analyze medical records and draft persuasive memos explaining why the Social Security Administration should consider a client disabled.
• Coordinate with clients’ local representatives to obtain missing documentation from the Social Security Administration.
• Manage a caseload and collaborate with attorneys on case strategy.
• Identify inefficient workflows, scope improvements, gain team support, and implement operational changes.
• Support Marketing with client testimonials and user-test new Product tools.

Requirements

• Professional experience in a substantially client-facing or lawyer-facing role, such as case management or paralegal work.
• Resourceful, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast-growing startup environment.
• Empathetic and kind when speaking with people in crisis, and thoughtful and organized when interacting with attorneys.
• Demonstrated commitment to helping people and creating positive social impact.

Nice to have

• Professional experience helping people apply for government benefits.
• Experience in a startup or other fast-paced, agile environment.
