Prompt Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote - US; preferred working hours overlap with the Eastern or Central time zones.

Salary: $100,000–$150,000 annually, plus equity, stock options, and company-paid benefits.

What you will do

• Design specialized subagents for live customer conversations, including technical Q&A, product and pricing support, discovery, objection handling, demos, account research, compliance, and action execution.
• Build routing and delegation systems for direct answers, subagent invocation, parallel specialists, clarification, tool use, human escalation, and safe refusal.
• Define interfaces and operating contracts between primary conversational agents and subagents, including context boundaries, structured outputs, confidence, evidence, latency, cancellation, and failure handling.
• Develop and maintain complex dynamic prompts and agentic workflows using conversation reviews and feedback.
• Train AI agents with prompting, RAG knowledge bases, and fine-tuning.
• Create prototypes and AI-assisted code for prompting, data, API, and multimedia workflows.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of relevant experience in AI, LLMs, natural language processing, conversation design, or a related field.
• Strong hands-on experience with LLM prompting, especially OpenAI and Anthropic models, APIs, prompt parameters, and prompt components.
• Basic coding skills for rapid prototyping, iteration, and API integrations.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including documenting work and educating others.
• Ability to work remotely from the US, with preference for the Eastern or Central time zones.

Nice to have

• Copywriting, data science, or software engineering experience.
