Optometric Technician - Medical Assistant - Bilingual

What you will do

• Provide high-quality patient care and maintain a professional doctor’s office and pretest room.
• Explain preliminary examinations and perform exam pre-screening and testing before the doctor’s examination.
• Complete required paperwork and carefully review prescriptions and patient information.
• Promote visual field testing and retinal screenings for eligible patients.
• Recognize special patient needs and consult with the optician, doctor, or retail management when needed.
• Maintain doctor’s and pre-test equipment and keep it operating properly.

Requirements

• Fluent reading and speaking in English and Spanish
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to learn optical knowledge, ocular terminology, diseases, and abbreviations.
• Clear and concise customer instruction skills.
• Excellent organization, attention to detail, multitasking, and time-management skills.
• Professional attitude and appearance.

Nice to have

• Previous retail or optical experience.
