Senior Mechanical Engineer (Automated Machinery Design)

Location: Moorestown, New Jersey, USA; onsite role

Base salary: $100,000–$115,000 per year

What you will do

• Conceptualize and design high-speed automated labeling machinery and improvements to existing products.
• Generate mechanical designs from user requirements specifications and management guidance.
• Create 3D part and assembly models, fabricated-part drawings, and assembly drawings with dimensions, tolerances, views, and bills of materials.
• Research feasibility, explore new product lines, and develop innovative machinery designs.
• Work with customers to understand project requirements and monitor project schedules.
• Support production with machine assembly and operation, and oversee junior engineers when required.

Requirements

• At least five years of experience designing servo-controlled automated machinery, such as packaging or material-handling equipment.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks and working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
• Understanding of pneumatic systems, servo motors, gearboxes, sensors, and conveyors.
• Ability to interpret URS requirements and convert them into practical design concepts.
• Ability to lead engineers and handle complex design efforts using established engineering expertise.
• BSME degree preferred; strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and results orientation required.
