What you will do

• Develop a global Customs and Export Control Management System and establish standards across business units and legal entities.
• Translate regulatory requirements into practical policies and processes and keep them aligned with internal and external requirements.
• Serve as the central subject matter expert for customs and export control, including BAFA requirements, sanctions, origin and preference rules, and Incoterms.
• Coordinate local customs and export control contacts and drive consistent implementation of global standards.
• Assess compliance risks, establish reporting, and lead or support internal and external audits and investigations.
• Lead cross-functional projects with Procurement, Sales, Finance, Compliance, and other functions to improve processes, structures, and tools.

Requirements

• University degree in Business Administration, International Trade, Business Law, or a comparable field with a focus on foreign trade, customs, or export control.
• Several years of relevant experience in customs, export control, or trade compliance within an international industrial environment.
• Solid hands-on operational experience and strong knowledge of German, EU, and international customs and export control regulations.
• Proven experience leading cross-functional projects and implementing processes, standards, or tools.
• Independent, pragmatic, and solution-oriented working style with sound regulatory judgment and strong business process understanding.
• Fluent German and English required; willingness to travel internationally up to approximately 20%.
