Enterprise Architect (Appian)

What you will do

• Lead the end-to-end technical architecture strategy for a federal acquisition modernization program.
• Establish the architecture blueprint for integrating legacy systems, COTS platforms, cloud environments, and supporting infrastructure.
• Define architectural decisions covering enterprise integration patterns, API-first design, data fabric architectures, microservices, and event-driven integrations.
• Collaborate with platform partners and delivery workstream leads to translate business requirements into technical direction.
• Support scalable, secure solutions aligned with federal security and compliance requirements.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in enterprise IT architecture, including at least 5 years supporting large federal government programs.
• Experience designing enterprise integration architectures across COTS platforms, legacy systems, and cloud environments.
• Deep knowledge of API design, microservices architecture, data fabric concepts, and event-driven integration patterns.
• Experience with FedRAMP-authorized AWS, Azure, or GCP environments at IL2/IL4 and federal OIT architecture review processes.
• Proficiency in TOGAF, DoDAF, or equivalent architecture modeling frameworks, plus familiarity with NIST RMF and FISMA.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field required; a master’s degree is preferred.

Nice to have

• Direct experience with Appian platform architecture, including data fabric, process automation, and integrations in federal environments.
• TOGAF or equivalent enterprise architecture certification.
• Master’s degree in a related technical field.
