What you will do

• Provide technical leadership for Life & Health underwriting and claims across APAC ex China and translate global philosophy, standards, and risk appetite into the regional context.
• Ensure consistent application of underwriting and claims standards, procedures, authorities, and quality expectations across APAX.
• Drive the evolution of underwriting approaches by combining expertise, data, technology, and new risk-assessment methods.
• Provide senior technical judgment on complex, material, and emerging underwriting and claims matters and advise strategic client discussions.
• Own the regional technical governance and quality assurance framework, including technical deep-dives, reviews, first-line assurance, and remediation.
• Build technical communities across markets, Bangalore, and global teams while developing technical talent and future leaders.

Requirements

• At least 15 years of experience in Life & Health reinsurance or insurance.
• Strong technical expertise in underwriting and/or claims, with a sound understanding of Life & Health products and profitability drivers.
• Recognized technical leadership, judgment, and credibility in complex matters and senior-stakeholder influence.
• Strong understanding of underwriting philosophy, risk assessment, risk appetite, technical assurance, governance, and remediation.
• Proven leadership, people-development, communication, influencing, and relationship-management skills across markets and functions.
• Relevant professional qualification in Life & Health underwriting or claims, such as CII, FALU, or equivalent, is advantageous.
