Construction Project Manager - Interior Renovation & Facility Fit-Out (Biotech)

Location: Piscataway, New Jersey, United States; fully onsite

Salary: $120,000–$150,000 per year, based on experience.

What you will do

• Evaluate potential renovation sites for technical feasibility, constraints, and cost implications.
• Coordinate requirements, test fits, design development, cost estimates, schedules, procurement, bidding, and contracting.
• Manage technical, quality, safety, schedule, and communication performance across interior renovation and facility fit-out projects.
• Coordinate design firms, contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders while resolving issues and reporting progress to management.
• Manage permits, inspections, and government approvals for renovation work.
• Oversee factory acceptance testing, commissioning, and validation to ensure spaces and systems meet user and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive construction project management experience, preferably in interior renovations, facility fit-outs, and upgrades.
• Hands-on experience with design coordination, test fits, cost evaluation, and MEP system studies.
• Experience managing HVAC projects and resolving technical and communication issues.
• Strong project management, leadership, communication, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects while minimizing disruption to occupied or partially occupied facilities.

Nice to have

• Experience with laboratory, cleanroom, or biopharmaceutical interior renovations.
• Proficiency with Procore, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, construction estimating, and scheduling tools.
• Knowledge of U.S. building codes, local renovation permitting, safety regulations, and biopharmaceutical standards such as cGMP.
