Business Operations Analyst (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Own cost improvement and unit economics for assigned SpaceX hardware programs.
• Establish and track should-cost models, cost targets, revenue targets, and performance against plan.
• Analyze cost per unit, revenue, cost of sales, operating expenses, and capital expenditures.
• Guide Supply Chain, Engineering, Design, and Manufacturing decisions through cost-versus-performance tradeoffs.
• Evaluate capital expenditure decisions, expansion plans, automation, manufacturing scope, insourcing versus outsourcing, and facility location.
• Develop and execute operational and cost-improvement initiatives with SpaceX leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, computer science, data science, physics, or another quantitative field.
• At least 1 year of experience in engineering, manufacturing, product management, operations, FP&A, consulting, banking, or entrepreneurship.
• At least 1 year of experience using Excel or programming.
• Strong quantitative analysis, modeling, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interpret income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Must satisfy U.S. ITAR eligibility requirements or be eligible to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorizations.

Nice to have

• Quantitative dual degree in engineering and economics or business, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience driving tangible organizational impact and influencing cross-functional decisions.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python with the ability to handle large datasets independently.
• Experience with Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or Looker for analytical modeling.
• Experience working effectively in ambiguous environments with strong ownership and urgency.
