Business Operations Analyst (Aerospace)

Location: Bastrop, Texas, United States; U.S. ITAR authorization required

What you will do

• Own cost improvement and unit economics for specific SpaceX hardware programs, including should-cost and cost-target tracking.
• Analyze cost per unit, revenue, cost of sales, operating expenses, and capital expenditures.
• Develop complex cost models, analytical tools, and decision-making frameworks.
• Guide Supply Chain, Engineering, Design, and Manufacturing decisions through cost-versus-performance tradeoffs.
• Manage profit-improvement initiatives involving product design, supply chain, and manufacturing processes.
• Evaluate CapEx decisions, expansion plans, automation, manufacturing scope, insourcing versus outsourcing, and location strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, computer science, data science, physics, or another quantitative field.
• At least 1 year of experience in engineering, manufacturing, product management, operations, FP&A, consulting, banking, or entrepreneurship.
• At least 1 year of experience with Excel or programming.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and Python, with the ability to work independently with large datasets.
• Ability to interpret income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee, or be eligible to obtain the required U.S. government authorizations under ITAR regulations.

Nice to have

• Quantitative dual degree in engineering and economics or business, or equivalent professional experience.
• Demonstrated ability to influence broader organizations and deliver tangible impact.
• Advanced analytical modeling experience with Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with senior business leaders.
• Experience working with urgency, ownership, and automation in ambiguous environments.
