Head of Pricing & Legal Project Management (Europe)

What you will do

• Lead pricing and legal project management strategy across the Firm’s European offices, advising partners and matter teams.
• Develop alternative fee arrangements, including fixed and capped fees, blended rates, volume discounts, collars, success fees, and phased budgets.
• Prepare pricing models, matter budgets, profitability analyses, scenario models, staffing plans, and financial impact assessments.
• Implement legal project management frameworks covering matter planning, scope management, milestone reporting, communication plans, and post-matter reviews.
• Build tools, templates, playbooks, dashboards, reporting, and knowledge resources to improve pricing and matter management consistency.
• Manage, mentor, and develop European pricing and legal project management resources.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, accounting, or a related discipline.
• Significant experience in law firm pricing, commercial finance, legal project management, or related professional services, preferably in a large international law firm.
• Deep understanding of law firm economics, profitability, billing structures, rate management, alternative fee arrangements, procurement, matter scoping, and staffing models.
• Strong financial modeling, analytical, project management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• High proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Power BI, and financial reporting tools.
• Ability to handle confidential information and advise senior partners and leadership with discretion and sound judgment.

Nice to have

• MBA, legal qualification, project management certification, or another relevant advanced degree.
• Experience leading or developing pricing analysts, legal project managers, or other professional staff.
• Experience with Aderant, pricing and matter management technologies, project management tools, SQL, and artificial intelligence technologies.
• Knowledge of the European legal market, client buying behavior, procurement processes, and regional pricing norms.
