Technology Risk Consulting Intern - Summer 2027

Location: Chicago, United States; travel to assigned client locations may be required.

Compensation: $31–$37 per hour

What you will do

• Understand client needs, business processes, accounting systems, technology environments, and control systems.
• Assist with designing and optimizing business and IT controls.
• Identify internal control deficiencies, assess risk implications, and support client recommendations.
• Create internal control documentation for client engagements.
• Engage with client leadership on strategies for emerging technology risks.
• Support SOX, SOC reporting, IT controls testing, technical IT controls reviews, and internal audits of ERP and IT security systems.

Requirements

• At least 90 credit hours completed and pursuit of a B.A., B.S., or equivalent degree from an accredited university.
• Major in accounting, information systems, or a related field.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred.
• Ability to travel to assigned client locations and access reliable transportation.
• Strong written and verbal communication, multitasking, project management, teamwork, integrity, and professionalism.
• Entry-level candidates must not require employment sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice to have

• CPA, CISA, or CIA certification, or progress toward certification.
