Technology Risk Consulting Intern - Summer 2027

Location: Chicago, United States. Hybrid work aligned to an hirify.global office; travel to assigned client locations may be required, with reliable transportation required.

Salary: $33–$39 per hour.

What you will do

• Understand clients’ businesses, industries, accounting and control systems, employees, and organizational values.
• Assist with designing and optimizing controls using knowledge of business processes, accounting, and information technologies.
• Identify internal control deficiencies, evaluate risk implications, and draw conclusions for client advice.
• Create internal control documentation supporting client engagements.
• Engage with client leadership on strategies for anticipating emerging technology risks.
• Support SOX, regulatory and compliance, SOC reporting, IT controls testing, technical IT controls reviews, and internal audits of ERP, IT security, and other IT systems.

Requirements

• At least 90 credit hours completed.
• Currently pursuing a B.A., B.S., or equivalent degree from an accredited university.
• Major in Accounting or a related discipline, or major in Information Systems or a related discipline.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong multitasking and project management skills.
• Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
• High degree of integrity and professionalism.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel to assigned client locations.
• Must not require employment sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred.
• CPA, CISA, or CIA certification, or progress toward one of these certifications.
