2027 Public Sector & Infrastructure Consulting Intern

Location: Chicago, IL, United States or Denver, CO, United States. The role follows a principally in-person workplace model with flexibility determined with the supervisor and team; local, national, and occasional international travel may be required. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship, except qualified bilingual candidates in Japanese and English or Chinese and English.

Salary: $33.00–$36.00.

What you will do

• Assess, improve, and redesign processes for public sector organizations.
• Assist with research, special analyses, project delivery, and technology thought leadership.
• Support clients in selecting and implementing enterprise technology solutions such as ERP, EAM, CIS, and SIS.
• Develop innovation roadmaps and interact directly with cities, counties, states, utility districts, and school districts.
• Build client relationships and participate in networking and business development activities.
• Travel to client sites for vendor software demonstrations, stakeholder interviews, and implementation management.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, information technology, engineering, or a related field.
• Planning to return to school after the internship; candidates completing degree requirements before or during the internship are encouraged to apply for entry-level opportunities.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
• Detail-oriented approach with problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship, subject to the stated bilingual exception.

Nice to have

• Information technology or engineering knowledge and experience.
• Experience using AI tools and effective prompting techniques for research, analysis, content development, and problem-solving.
• Experience selecting or implementing enterprise technology solutions such as ERP, EAM, CIS, or SIS.
