Mechanical Maintenance Technician

What you will do

• Perform mechanical repair and maintenance using blueprints, technical manuals, and established procedures.
• Troubleshoot equipment and systems, perform corrective actions, and conduct failure analysis.
• Identify machinery problems and design improvements, recommending necessary modifications.
• Maintain maintenance-system records, logs of repairs and downtime, procedures, and administrative documentation.
• Perform power-plant rigging and operate lifting equipment for heavy machinery and materials; work toward crane-operator certification.
• Support incident investigations, train personnel, and coordinate with outside contractors during overhauls and other plant work.

Requirements

• OSHA 10 certification is required.
• Professional or experienced-level maintenance background.
• Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, near high voltages, moving equipment, high noise, and temperature extremes.
• Ability to lift materials up to 50 pounds frequently and heavier materials moderately, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
• Availability for scheduled and unscheduled overtime, shift work, nights, weekends, and holidays when required.

Nice to have

• Rigging experience or certification.
• Crane-operator experience or certification.
• Strong combined-cycle power-plant experience.
