General Counsel

Location: Five-day onsite role in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States

Salary: $300,000 per year, including base salary and target incentive bonus, plus RSUs.

What you will do

• Build, lead, and develop the legal function, including direct reports, legal operations, playbooks, scalable processes, and outside counsel relationships.
• Advise the CEO and executive leadership on corporate, commercial, regulatory, employment, governance, and organizational matters.
• Oversee contract review and negotiation, corporate records, entity management, board governance, policies, and risk mitigation.
• Support business, real estate, investment, partnership, financial institution, and founder-led initiatives.
• Maintain Terms of Service and Privacy Policies and establish contract-management workflows, including renewal reminders and timely agreement records.
• Lead legal readiness for potential investment, financing, acquisition, or public-company preparedness efforts.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing with at least one US state bar, with the ability to obtain Pennsylvania admission if required.
• Significant in-house experience as General Counsel, Deputy or Assistant General Counsel, or another comparable senior legal leader.
• Broad experience in corporate, commercial, regulatory, employment, governance, contract, and risk matters.
• Experience supporting founder-led, entrepreneurial, or high-growth companies and partnering with senior leadership.
• Strong executive presence, business judgment, contract drafting and negotiation skills, and ability to provide practical advice under time pressure.

Nice to have

• Experience in gift card, payments, fintech, or financial services industries.
• Experience with SEC reporting, securities law compliance, public-company governance, or public-company readiness initiatives.
