Application Security Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Implement and maintain security measures across systems and software development processes, including hardening, monitoring, vulnerability remediation, incident response, and disaster recovery.
• Implement security controls in colocation and cloud environments, focusing on secure configuration and compliance.
• Collaborate with development and IT teams to integrate security practices into daily operations and coordinate remediation.
• Support security incident detection, containment, and reporting.
• Deploy, integrate, configure, upgrade, patch, and troubleshoot security software and solutions.
• Use AI tools and platforms to support security analysis, scripting, log review, documentation, and data-informed decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
• 0–2 years of related work experience.
• Exposure to cloud security services and secure configuration in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Familiarity with vulnerability management, SIEM/EDR, scripting and automation, and DevSecOps practices.
• Knowledge of relevant security frameworks and standards, including HITRUST CSF, HIPAA Security Rule, NIST CSF/800-53, and CIS Benchmarks.
• Applicants for this U.S.-based position must be legally authorized to work in the United States; employment eligibility verification is required.

Nice to have

• Healthcare industry experience.
• Experience with AI assistants, agentic tools, prompt engineering, and evaluating AI output for accuracy.
• Awareness of AI/LLM security risks and secure use of AI coding assistants in the SDLC.
• Interest in securing AI/ML workloads and agent integrations, including MCP servers, API keys, service accounts, and data boundaries.
• Security certification or active pursuit of Security+, SSCP, GIAC GSEC, or AWS/Azure security fundamentals.
