Security Engineer (AI)

Location: Fully onsite at the Lisbon office, Portugal. The posting header also lists Barcelona and remote work. Relocation support is available.

Salary: €61K–€76K annually, plus an annual bonus.

What you will do

• Develop threat models and conduct vulnerability scans, penetration tests, and security assessments across applications and infrastructure.
• Define secure coding practices and collaborate with development teams on application and API security reviews.
• Partner with DevOps to integrate security into CI/CD pipelines and automate security testing.
• Monitor and respond to security incidents, analyze root causes, and implement preventative measures.
• Design IAM policies, encryption standards, authentication mechanisms, and security monitoring frameworks.
• Develop incident response plans, security documentation, and risk mitigation strategies while supporting compliance with ISO 27001, GDPR, and SOC 2.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in cybersecurity, application security, or security engineering.
• Strong knowledge of secure coding principles, OWASP Top 10, and threat modeling.
• Experience with vulnerability scanning tools such as Nessus, Qualys, and Burp Suite, plus penetration testing methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with SIEM, intrusion detection systems, security monitoring, cloud security, IAM, encryption, network security, and API security.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for scripting and security automation.
• Ability to analyze security logs, detect anomalies, mitigate threats, and communicate security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
