Location: Hybrid work model in Boston, Chicago, San Diego, or San Francisco, United States; employees work in the office four days per week and may work elsewhere on Fridays. Travel locally, nationally, and internationally up to 25%.
Salary: $125,000–$180,000 USD per year, depending on location, experience, and skills.

What you will do
- Lead architectural laboratory programming, planning, and design for research and development, teaching and learning, analytical, academic, and STEM facilities.
- Provide technical leadership on large laboratory and science-building commissions while guiding multiple small- and medium-scale projects.
- Develop space programs, physical plans, planning grids, laboratory organization, and service distribution concepts.
- Document laboratory systems, including casework, equipment, and laboratory spaces, and support construction administration follow-through.
- Prepare and lead design presentations and project meetings while building trusted client relationships.
- Support business development through capture plans, proposals, interviews, presentations, conferences, and thought leadership; mentor junior staff and assist with recruitment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, interior design, engineering, planning, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of professional experience across projects of different types, complexity, and scale.
- Experience with academic, research, and STEM facilities for college and university clients.
- Strong technical experience in laboratory facility programming, design, construction, code implementation, jurisdiction review, and construction practices.
- Proficiency with Revit, Bluebeam, Enscape, and SketchUp, along with strong leadership, communication, organizational, and client-management skills.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without work visa or residency sponsorship.

- Advanced knowledge of sustainability, integrated design, and LEED guidelines.
- Current portfolio or work samples submitted in PDF format.
