Medical Assistant (Pediatrics)

Location: Remote in California; Monday–Friday, 9 AM–6 PM PST with a one-hour break; occasional Saturday coverage may be required.

Compensation: $20–$25 per hour, plus medical and ancillary benefits depending on geographic location.

What you will do

• Schedule and coordinate patient appointments across physicians, advanced practice providers, care coordinators, psychologists, therapists, and other care team members.
• Respond to patient inquiries, manage appointment confirmations and preparation, and send reminders to reduce no-shows.
• Collect, organize, and maintain patient intake forms, medical histories, and clinical documentation.
• Verify that patient information is complete and accurate in the EHR before clinical visits.
• Contact referring providers to establish care, obtain medical records, clarify patient history, and communicate appointment outcomes.
• Track referrals and follow up on outstanding items with external providers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Proficiency with EHR systems and multiple technology platforms.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced remote environment.
• Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills required.
• Reliable internet connection and a dedicated workspace suitable for remote work.

Nice to have

• Medical Assistant certification such as CCMA, AAMA, or an equivalent credential.
• Experience supporting pediatric or chronic-care coordination.
