Focus on shaping legislative language, translating technical capabilities into policy and budget objectives, and building support for national security and resilient infrastructure applications.

Location: Washington, D.C.; 100% onsite at the DC office

Salary: $160,500–$236,250 annually, plus equity.

hirify.global is an El Segundo-based startup developing mass-produced, portable nuclear microreactors for hospitals, data centers, remote sites, military bases, and other critical applications.

What you will do

  • Develop and execute congressional affairs strategy supporting U.S. government programs, customer priorities, and reactor deployment timelines.
  • Build relationships with Members of Congress, committee staff, leadership offices, and personal offices across defense, energy, appropriations, and homeland security.
  • Identify and influence authorization and appropriations language supporting advanced nuclear systems.
  • Track legislative cycles, hearings, markups, proposals, and relevant federal programs.
  • Prepare briefing materials, hearing memos, legislative analyses, and recommendations for leadership.
  • Coordinate with business development, policy, regulatory, technical, consulting, trade association, and external stakeholder teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • 7+ years of experience in congressional policy, appropriations, or government affairs.
  • Experience working on Capitol Hill or closely with Congress.
  • Strong understanding of congressional authorization and appropriations processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to work 100% onsite in Washington, D.C., including extended hours and weekends when necessary.

Nice to have

  • Experience with a congressional appropriations or authorizing committee.
  • Experience at a government affairs firm or multi-client policy practice.
  • Familiarity with Department of Defense budgeting and program structures.
  • Knowledge of nuclear energy, advanced energy technologies, or national security policy.
