Director of Government Affairs (Fintech)

Location: Remote; regular nationwide travel required

Salary: $150,000–$220,000 USD base plus equity

What you will do

• Develop and execute federal and state government affairs strategies for earned wage access and consumer credit-building products.
• Represent Grant hirify.global before legislators, regulators, attorneys general, trade associations, consumer advocates, and other stakeholders.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and recommend responses, including testimony, comment letters, and model legislative language.
• Build relationships with policymakers, community organizations, think tanks, and industry coalitions.
• Hire and manage outside lobbyists and consultants, including objectives, budgets, and performance.
• Advise executive leadership and communications teams while partnering with Legal, Compliance, Product, and Executive teams.

Requirements

• 4–10 years of experience in government affairs, public policy, legislative or regulatory affairs, advocacy, public affairs, or government service.
• Track record of building relationships with policymakers, regulators, and stakeholders at the state or federal level.
• Experience developing multi-state legislative or regulatory strategies.
• Experience managing outside lobbyists or consultants.
• Experience in fintech, consumer financial services, or payments.
• Strong written and verbal communication, judgment on public positioning, independent execution, and willingness to travel nationally.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with earned wage access, consumer lending, or credit-reporting policy.
• Experience with fintech or financial services trade associations.
• Relationships with state financial regulators, state legislators, the CFPB, or other federal financial agencies.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in public policy, political science, or a related field.
