TL;DR
Manager Accounting (Accounts Receivable/General Ledger): Owning accounts receivable and the day-to-day integrity of the general ledger across U.S. and Canadian operations with an accent on month-end close, reconciliations, collections, and deduction management. Focus on improving accounting controls and processes, coordinating cross-border intercompany reporting, and driving ERP automation.

What you will do
- Own the full accounts receivable cycle across U.S. and Canadian operations, including invoicing, cash application, collections, credit review, and customer account maintenance.
- Manage retailer deductions, chargebacks, short pays, AR aging, DSO, and the allowance for doubtful accounts.
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analyses, and monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities.
- Support Canadian accounting and reporting, including sales tax filings and cross-border intercompany transactions.
- Support group reporting, external audits, tax advisor requests, and internal control documentation.
- Supervise one direct report and drive automation, system enhancements, and testing across the ERP and finance systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including ownership of month-end close.
- Strong experience with accounts receivable, collections, and deduction or chargeback management.
- Strong command of journal entries, account reconciliations, general ledger structure, and U.S. GAAP.
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and working with large data sets.
- Hands-on ERP experience with SAP preferred, or NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or a similar system.
Nice to have
- CPA or CPA candidate status.
- Experience in consumer products, wholesale, or retail distribution.
- Experience in a multinational group with intercompany accounting and reporting to a foreign parent.
- Prior supervisory or mentoring experience.
