Assistant Construction Project Manager (Schools)

Location: Washington, DC; approximately 4 days of on-site support required, subject to client needs.

Salary: $100,000–$115,000 per year, commensurate with experience.

What you will do

• Support dynamic project managers in executing multi-phased construction projects and managing changing project demands.
• Monitor field progress, analyze schedules, and support quality control.
• Coordinate construction oversight, design management, contract management, and project communications.
• Build effective working relationships with construction teams, client decision-makers, vendors, trade associates, and industry organizations.
• Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Prepare project documentation and track invoices, purchase orders, financial commitments, exposures, and obligations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or associate degree in construction management, business, architecture, civil, structural, or mechanical engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• At least 2 years of construction project management experience and a strong understanding of building design and construction processes.
• Experience with base building, schools, commercial, cultural, life sciences, corporate fit-out, developer, or site construction projects.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, presentation, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office, Adobe Acrobat or comparable PDF tools such as Bluebeam or Nitro, and project management platforms such as Procore or equivalent.
