Software Engineer II (Python)

Location: Boston, MA, United States

Base salary: $115,000–$190,000 per year, plus 401(k) and eligible equity grants.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and implement performant optimization systems processing large data volumes.
• Build and deploy data and simulation systems supporting fulfillment operations.
• Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and domain experts to translate requirements into effective solutions.
• Investigate data quality issues, identify root causes, and resolve critical production problems across services and technology stacks.
• Write clean, maintainable code using test-driven development, peer review, unit testing, and CI/CD pipelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a similar technical field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of professional software development experience building distributed, highly performant systems.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience building high-quality systems with unit testing and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to analyze business requirements, translate them into code, solve problems independently, and collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS cloud technologies.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, or CloudFormation.
• Supply-chain experience or exposure to operational research.
